A Christmas Wedding at Prince of Wales, Niagara-on-the-Lake

What a way to wrap up the 2024 wedding season!

Alex and Donald held their wedding at the stunning Prince of Wales Hotel in Niagara-on-the-Lake just a few days after Christmas. They chose one of the most stunning hotels in Niagara to tie the knot at. And with how charming Niagara on the Lake always is, everything was decorated to perfection for their Christmas wedding. The weather however, didn't quite match the season. It was an unusually warm winter day with temperatures reaching close to 60°F (15.6°C)! I don't think any of us minded this though.

Alex and Donald had reached out to me a few months prior about capturing their wedding. Traveling from North Carolina to Niagara-on-the-Lake, they envisioned a small, intimate celebration with close family and friends. My favorite kind of wedding!

A Festive Stroll Through Niagara-on-the-Lake

We met for the first time in the lobby of the Prince of Wales Hotel. From the moment I met them, it felt like reconnecting with old friends rather than meeting new clients. Alex looked stunning in her wedding dress, and Donald looked fantastic too.

One of the highlights of the day was stepping out into the streets of downtown Niagara-on-the-Lake for their portraits. There was a steady stream of "Congratulations!" from people walking by. The Christmas decorations on the streets complemented Alex's vision for her wedding photos beautifully, and the classy holiday décor of the Prince of Wales Hotel played a starring role as well.

A Heartfelt Ceremony and Celebration

After finishing their portraits, we returned indoors for the ceremony. It was short, sweet, and filled with emotion in front of a candle lit fireplace. It was one of the most cozy wedding ceremonies I have ever photographed. The reception that followed was equally as cozy, with every detail thoughtfully planned and perfectly decorated to celebrate their love.
